Bethel Bible Village Children's Home is always looking for committed, growing Christians who feel the Lord is leading them into full-time or part-time Christian ministry.

At this time all full-time positions at Bethel Bible Village Children's Home benefit from 100% employer paid health, dental, life and disability insurance. GENERAL MANAGER : Thrift Store Division
Description:

Bethel Bible Village’s mission is to provide safe, nurturing and Christ-centered homes for children of families in crisis, and equip and inspire them to live productive Christian lives. Bethel is currently seeking an experienced and capable General Manager to oversee our ministry’s Thrift Store Division.
Bethel currently operates two thrift stores in the Chattanooga area (Hixson and East Ridge). Through the sale of quality, donated items, these stores generate income to help underwrite the ongoing work of Bethel Bible Village Children’s Home. With accountability to and support of the Executive Director, the Thrift Store Division General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our two Thrift Store locations with an eye toward launching other area stores as opportunities and resources permit. Specific duties include: financial and inventory management, recruiting, hiring and overseeing a team comprised of both paid staff and volunteers; building unity and a commitment to excellence within the Thrift Store team; business planning and goal setting, risk management; and facilitating safe, healthy and positive store environments for customers (shoppers and donors), volunteers and staff.

Requirements:

• Embrace Bethel’s faith and missional commitments as a Christian ministry.
• Minimum two years retail or related experience in a management/supervisory capacity. Prior thrift store experience preferred.
• Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, personal integrity, assertiveness, self-motivation and a commitment to service and building customer loyalty.
• Strong capabilities in the areas of interpersonal skills, team building, time management and communication.
• College level training in Business, Marketing or a related discipline highly desired. Degree is preferred.

Accountant/Financial Services Team Leader

Bethel Bible Village, a non-profit Christian ministry located in Hixson (Chattanooga), TN needs a qualified person to manage their Accounting/Financial Services Department. This person will supervise department staff (1-2 people currently) and have overall responsibility for monthly adjusted financial statements, general ledger control, supporting schedules, accounts payable, payroll, employee benefits oversight, general insurance oversight, annual budget preparation, and annual audit coordination. This person should have at least an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. Knowledge of fund accounting and Great Plains Accounting Software would be a plus.

This person should be licensed by the state of TN and have at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of special education with a K-12 certification. A teacher with an endorsement in English, Science, Math or History is preferred.
