OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIVING

Gifts of Non-Cash
Personal Property:
Used Clothing and
Household Items
Used Automobiles

Clothing and
Household Items:
You may donate items of clothing and
household items that you no longer need. Bethel Bible Village Children's Home will
use these items where needed. If items are not currently needed
for Bethel use, we sell the items at one of our four Thrift Shoppes.
The sale proceeds are used for the benefit of our children.
You may bring (or mail if appropriate)
your items directly to our Bethel campus located at 3001 Hamill
Road Hixson, TN 37343 (intersection of Hamill Road and Cassandra-Smith
Road 2 miles east of Highway 153: near Northgate Shopping
Mall). If it is more convenient for you, you may bring your items
directly to one of our Bethel Thrift Shoppes.
If you have too many items for your car,
or you have very heavy or large items, you can call our Hixson,
TN Thrift Shoppe (870-9056) to arrange for your items to be picked
up within the Chattanooga area.
You will receive an official receipt
from Executive Director Myron Wilkins for your donation. We do not
place a value on your donation since there is no universally accepted
market value for items of used clothing and household items. You
must determine the value of your donated items you claim on your
income tax return. If you plan to deduct $5,000 or more for your
donation of non-cash items, you must obtain an independent appraisal
of their value. There are other special tax reporting requirements
for you and for Bethel Bible Village Children's Home if you deduct
$5,000 or more. Please inform the Bethel Bible Village Children's
Home Development office ront@bethelbiblevillage.org
or 842-5757 before you make your donation if you plan to deduct
$5,000 or more for your donation.

Donation of Your
Used Automobile:
You may have a used car, truck or other
vehicle that you would like to donate to Bethel Bible Village Children's Home. If
we can, we will use your donated vehicle in our ministry. If we
do not currently have a ministry use for the vehicle, we will sell
it and use the proceeds to provide for the daily needs of our children.
You must have a valid title to the vehicle.
To arrange for donating your automobile,
please contact Bethel Bible Village Children's Home's Director of
Support Services (randys@bethelbiblevillage.org)
423-842-5757 or toll-free 888-228-9499.
If you live a great distance from the
Chattanooga area, we would want to evaluate the age, condition,
and potential market value of your vehicle, and the delivery arrangements
before we could accept it as a gift.
You will receive an official receipt
from Bethel Bible Village Children's Home's Executive Director, Myron Wilkins for
your donated vehicle. We will describe the vehicle, but we do not
show a market value for it on your official receipt. You must determine
the value that you will deduct on your income tax return. If you
plan to deduct $5,000 or more on your tax return for your donated
vehicle, you are required to obtain an independent appraisal of
its value. There are other special tax reporting requirements for
you and for Bethel Bible Village Children's Home if you deduct $5,000 or more for
your deduction. Please inform Bethel's Director of Support Services
at the time of your donation if you plan to deduct $5,000 or more
on your tax return.
